Inclusions are the birthmarks of nature’s gems. Each one applying a unique personality to the gem that hosts it. Edward J. Gübelin and John I. Koivula travelled to all of the gem-producing areas throughout the world to study the geology of gemstones on location. They collected gems with inclusions from all important deposits in order to determine their geological and geographic differences. In Volume 2 of the Photoatlas series they document not only the charming beauty but also the scientific importance of inclusions in gems.
